When a Spanish-language record goes to an Irish body, ISD and most other offices expect a certified English translation to sit beside it. Our Spanish to English translation in Ireland gives you exactly that: the complete document in English, apostille and verification codes included, plus a dated statement of accuracy signed by a named translator. Delivery is by PDF, with paper copies posted on request.
Spanish enquiries reach us from two directions. Some bring records from Spain, often a certificado literal carrying a CSV code, or a bundle of tax and vida laboral papers. Others come from Latin America, such as an apostilled Venezuelan birth record that runs to five pages, or a Chilean driver record.

Where clients send our Spanish translations
For citizenship, ISD's online guidance is direct: a certified copy of the birth certificate, and a certified English translation if it is in another language. Passport, grant and licensing offices work the same way. So whichever Irish office receives your Spanish paperwork, plan on sending the original together with a signed English version, never the translation alone.
Spanish civil records have their own vocabulary. A certificado literal is a word-for-word copy of the registry entry, while an extracto is a shorter summary. Many recent Spanish certificates also carry a Código Seguro de Verificación (CSV), which Spain's justice department lets anyone use online to retrieve the electronically signed original. We translate the code exactly, so a reviewer can check it.
Latin American records vary from country to country. A Venezuelan or Colombian birth record may come with a separate apostille, sometimes with an electronic verification page, and each page counts. Chile's driver record, the Hoja de Vida del Conductor, is produced from data held by the Registro Civil. We translate all of these in full and keep the original order of pages.
Drawn from the Spanish enquiries we receive
Full Spanish birth record, CSV code kept intact.
Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina and more, apostille included.
Social Security work-history report, every period listed.
Spanish income tax returns and related statements.
Chilean driver record, often apostilled.
Six situations account for most of our Spanish work. The paperwork and the risk point change from one to the next.
Applicants from Spain and Latin America usually start with a birth record. If yours is long, legalised and apostilled, as Venezuelan records often are, every page goes into the English version, stamps and signatures included.
A Spanish certificado literal for a child often carries a CSV code in the footer. We render that code character for character, keep the parents' names as they appear on their passports, and post a signed copy if you want one.
Families with income in Spain are sometimes asked for tax returns, a vida laboral and bank papers. That can mean twenty pages or more, so we quote per page and tell you early if any page looks unnecessary.
A Chilean Hoja de Vida del Conductor or similar record may help show driving history when dealing with Irish licensing. We translate the licence classes, dates and any recorded infractions exactly as listed.
Spanish payslips, nóminas, tax certificates and bank statements come up when buying property or sorting tax residence. Figures, IBANs and dates stay in their original format so they match the source line by line.
Spanish and Latin American degrees, títulos and grade transcripts go to Irish universities and professional bodies. We keep course names recognisable and add a short note where a grading scale would otherwise confuse the reader.
Our recent Spanish enquiries split almost evenly between Spain and Latin America. Three were birth certificates for citizenship or a first passport; one was a Chilean driver record for licensing; and one was a twenty-page financial bundle for a student grant.
CSV codes deserve care. A parent sending a Spanish child's birth certificate asked us to keep the CSV verification code legible in English. We copy it exactly, never translate the characters, and label it so the reader knows what it is for.
Apostilles add pages. A Venezuelan birth certificate that is both legalised and apostilled arrived as five pages, not one. The apostille and each legalisation stamp are part of the document, so we translate them too and price the full set up front.
Financial bundles can be trimmed. The grant applicant who sent tax returns, a vida laboral and bank papers was watching the budget. Check exactly which years and pages the funding body wants before ordering; translating a full year of statements you do not need is money lost.
Ask about membership if it matters. One client asked whether our translator belonged to a professional association before ordering. Our translators are ITIA-affiliated, and we state the translator's name and contact details on every statement.
Five points that save most Spanish rework
For citizenship or passports, the certificado literal is usually the safer copy.
Scan the apostille and any legalisation pages along with the record.
Tell us how your two apellidos appear on your Irish or other ID.
For tax or work history, check which years the body wants.
Make sure the footer code is sharp in your scan.
The Spanish records below are the ones we see most. Anything else, send a photo and we will name it and price it.
Everything runs online, and you only post anything if you choose to.
Send clear scans or photos of every page, apostille included, by quote form, email or WhatsApp.
We count the pages and send a quote, usually within about 15 minutes in working hours.
A native Spanish-speaking translator does the work, then a second reader checks names, figures and codes.
You receive a PDF with the signed accuracy statement, and paper copies posted in Ireland if needed.
These are invented sample extracts. No real person, code or record number appears in them.
Send a photo of the first page and we will identify it and price it before you commit.
Every certified Spanish translation includes the following at no extra cost.
Body text, stamps, seals and the apostille page all translated.
A dated accuracy statement from a named translator with contact details.
CSV and apostille verification codes reproduced character for character.
Your files stay with the people on your order and nobody else.
PDF by email, with signed copies posted anywhere in Ireland on request.
Spain plus Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina and Chile.
